Bath Time

If you're a cat owner, you know bath time is always a struggle.  But surprisingly, this time around it was almost like bonding time.  Here's a few discoveries I've made from trying different methods:

1) Fill the tub with only about 3 inches of water. He'll still be afraid of the water but he tends to be more calm without the noise of running water.

2) Make sure the water is a little hotter than warm to start so as you bathe him, the water won't get too cold.

3) Use a small cup or some sort of container to rinse him with water so it's controlled and smooth. You don't want to spook him with splashes or the shower head...

4) After all is done, wrap him in a big, thick towel for about 5 minutes so he doesn't catch a cold. Then let him lick himself crazy.

Hope these tips help! If you have better methods, I'd love to know about them!

Puzzle Fun

Over the weekend, Rino and I decided to start on a puzzle! It was a souvenir I had bought from Disney World so we were extra excited.

Just look at those skills!

Then...it was nap time.

We made great progress and finished the border though!

What's one of your favorite pastimes with your pet?

This post is in memory of my dear friend's cat Gambit who unfortunately passed away. May he rest in peace.

Meow means Hello

Meow!  This is Rino.  He was adopted at 2 months old from the Irvine Animal Care Center.

The second this little guy made eye contact, life has never been the same.  Rino and I cannot wait to share our adventures with you all.

A shout out to the Irvine Animal Care Center.  The adoption process was very easy and pricing was very fair.  Being first time adopters, my boyfriend (let's call him Frog Prince) and I felt surprisingly comfortable through the whole process.  The staff were all very educated and took the time to make sure we were too.  We even got to bond with the cat in a private room before making the big decision.  Our decision on Rino was a no-brainer.  How could you resist that face?!

For adoption logistics, look here and let me know about your adoption experience.

Do you have a pet?  Did you adopt? Was it love at first sight?  Tell me your story.
